Israel Reyes’s paper “Latina/o Studies in the Age of Entrepreneurialized Experience,” looks at recent reconfigurations of academic institutions emphasizing the entrepreneurialization of experience. In a context where post- disciplinary research centers and institutes have appropriated many of the progressive agendas from interdisciplinary programs to instrumentalize community engagement and make profitable the critical pedagogies that explore issues of race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality,Reyes asks, “how can Latina/o Studies, through theories of embodied knowledge, reorient the institution toward research agendas and curricula whose objectives emerge from the communities they purport to study and engage?”
