Supply chain management is heavily reliant on making decisions that solve problems, improve processes, increase efficiency, and save money. As the importance of a decision increases, it is vital this decision is supported by data that increases the outcome of making the right decision. As companies are collecting more data, supply chain management analytics has become a growing topic within organizations. Organizations are expected to use the data that is captured to create insights that will allow them to make decisions to enhance their supply chains. After conducting secondary research on the national best practices in supply chain analytics and conducting primary research on the supply chain analytics of six West Michigan companies, conclusions were drawn regarding the similarities and differences between the practices of West Michigan and the national best practices.
