By taking advantages of the interesting and distinguished optical and chemical properties of graphene we numerically investigate the effect of a graphene as an additional layer on the top of a Plasmon Waveguide Resonance (PWR) sensor for self-referenced measurements. The figure of merit as well as the field distribution of the proposed self-referenced PWR sensor Cr/Au/SiO2 /graphene are then discussed. Typical applications are then presented.
