Design of a narrow bandpass photonic crystal waveguide based filter using the equivalent electrical models is proposed. Equivalent T section models for defects with sizes other that of lattice rods are obtained and utilized for filter design. The spectral characteristics for the PCW based filter are obtained using scattering parameter analysis of cascaded sections of these equivalent T sections.
