Dr. Cristi Horton is an assistant professor in the communication studies department at Tarleton State University. Her research interests include how landowners negotiate the multiple demands made on them when faced with loss of space or land fragmentation due to urban development or land purchased for recreational use. In particular, she is interested in discovering and facilitating dimensions of conservation policy that provide opportunities for property owners to contribute to wildlife or other conservation measures as a fundamental aspect of their land management portfolio.
