First elected in 2006, Larry Schoen is serving his fourth term on the Board of County Commissioners representing District 1 (which includes all of Blaine County south of Fox Acres Road in Hailey and Broadford Road in Bellevue). Amongst other duties and activities, Larry is a founding member of the Wood River Wolf Project, one of the nation’s largest and most successful wolf and livestock coexistence programs. He also serves on the many community boards and committees including the Blaine County Ambulance District, Friedman Memorial Airport Authority, Idaho Fifth Judicial District Magistrates Commission, IAC Environment, Energy and Land Use Committee (Chairman), the National Association of Counties (Environment Energy and Land Use Committee, Rural Action Caucus and Resilient Counties Advisory Board). Larry owns and operates a farm in the Silver Creek area with his family and has two children in high school.
