This presentation is based on a simple proposition: that our evolutionary past as hunters and foragers in natural landscapes is ever present in our experience of modern built environments. Drawing on research in a variety of settings – from airplanes to workplaces - the presentation will address how built environments designed around the evolutionarily derived principles of biophilic design can enhance our physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
