Few-fermion thermometry

Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences

Tomasz Sowiński obtained his Ph.D. in 2008 and DSc (habilitation) in 2015 in the field of theoretical physics. His current scientific interests focus mainly on problems of strongly correlated systems containing a few ultra-cold particles. He tries to give some better understanding of how the collective properties of the many-body systems are manifested when one considers a mesoscopic number of particles.

Abstract

Potential realization of the quantum thermometer operating in nanokelvin regime, formed by a few-fermionic mixture confined in a one-dimensional harmonic trap is proposed. Thermal states of the system are studied theoretically... [ view full abstract ]
