Peter Hughes has worked in railway safety for 25 years. During this time he has worked on railways in Britain, Australia, India and Malaysia. His work has included: performing technical safety analysis and developing safety cases, developing risk models and safety management systems, conducting accident investigations and providing expert witness advice.He now works for Huddersfield University where he lectures on the Railway Safety MSc course, as well as researching data-intensive safety analysis as part of the University’s Big Data Risk Analysis research programme.
