The importance of risk presentation is often forgotten both in the theory and in the practice of risk analysis. Risk communication, knowing and controlling the impact of risk analyzes on targeted and general audience and generating efficient risk strategies, based on real understanding of the situation and accurate evaluations are the main principles that should guide the relation between the producer and the costumer of risk analyzes.
This paper intents to highlight the limits to be overcome within risk intake and the magnitude of the impact generated by an inadequate risk presentation. In our case study we will focus upon the mechanism that lays behind translating scientific weather forecasts into accessible and useful information for the public.
