     Influenced by his time spent in the wilderness of the American west during his childhood, Douglas Fout's work heavily reflects his interactions with nature. Through  black and white photography, this work explores such connections with the natural world, relating it on a larger scale to it’s relationship with modern day humanity. These images use contrasting ideas such as human absence vs presence and time vs the absence of time to shed light on the delicate yet complicated nature of this important relationship. By attempting to deeper understand this connection, this work looks to foster new relationships between man an nature, and nuture those connections which are already made.
