     A forest inventory of merchantable and sub-merchantable stems was completed in Compartment 10 of the University of the South’s forest at at Sewanee, Tennessee. Thirty-four random sample plots were used to measure the composition and stand structure over 418 acres. The Compartment was last harvested in 2004, with basal reduced in 50 acres from 114 ft² to 80 ft². We used our data to write a stand management plan and assess the standing timber value. The goals of the management plan are to promote the oak-hickory forest to provide future economic and ecological benefits to people and wildlife.
