College football recruiting is a highly competitive process with many constraints that make it a grueling process for coaches and programs. Any significant variable that a program can control to boost their probability of signing a five-star recruit will provide a coveted advantage in the process and likely translate to winning games the following season. Research from Stephen Bergman and Trevon Logan show that a five-star recruit is worth over $150,000 to the program in revenue and has a statistically significant positive impact on team performance. This paper explores the factors that determine the probability of whether a five-star recruit will attend a specific college. The implications of this paper will help college football programs decide what to focus on in the recruiting process to be as efficient as they can be.
