This work focuses on the examination the works of The Blue Beetle along with other superhero comic books from 1938 alongside historical works regarding law enforcement histories on a local, state, and federal level during the 1930s. The main purpose of this will be to show how superhero comic books beg to differ on the cultural and historical takes on the effectiveness of law enforcers against criminal activities within the United States of America. Evidence to support this argument will include analytical looks into vigilantism in America, communications and transportation, and the popularity of criminals in popular culture among other topics. This will be meant to show audiences that popular culture from any era can allow people to better understand the past from new and forgotten perspectives.
