The idea of multi-adversity assessment and measurement has captured the imagination of the field. It has generated useful research findings, novel concepts, and interesting prevention and intervention proposals. This workshop will cover some of the important insights from this work. But it will also subject the enthusiasm to a more critical examination as well. It will highlight important empirical and conceptual issues that have been neglected. It will discuss some of the pitfalls that have been encountered in other fields with assessment instruments. It will conclude by trying to suggest the constructive directions that the research and conceptualization might pursue.
