This study attempts a survey of the secondary school students’ engagement in child labour particularly in Abia state Nigeria. 160 males and 160 females which summed up to 320 students were purposively sampled for the study. This consisted of 160 urban and 160 rural secondary school students for the study. Questionnaire was used for data collection. Data collected was analyzed using mean, standard deviation, frequency count, percentages and inferences. The result of findings of the study revealed a low level child labour engagement among the secondary schools students in Abia state in particular.. The study also showed no significant difference in the mean child labour engagement score of the male and female, as well as for the senior and junior secondary school students in the state. There was however a significant difference in the level of child labour engagement of the urban and rural secondary school students which revealed that child labour is higher among the secondary school students in the urban centres than those in the rural areas. It was therefore recommended that the state government should intensify effort towards total eradication of child labour at all levels of the society through adequate legislation and enforcement of the child right laws.
