The municipality of Bodø, Norway - The crisis center for victims of domestic violence and abuse

Wanja J. Sæther is a social worker and the manager of the largest crises centers in the northern part of Norway - the region called Salten.She has been working with victims of domestic violence and sexual abusefor 25 years. She has also been working with family issues, children`s welfare, youth´s experiencing disadvantage, unemployment, homelessness and social  issues,trafficking, drugs addicts,  and also as a traditional social worker insocial office. She has been active in the battle against domestic violence for many years, and is now a member of the board for "The Secretariat of the Shelter Movement in Norway". In Norway she is highly recognized for her commitment and her fight for vulnerable groups.

Herdis Magnussen

Herdis Magussen is a social worker in crises center in the Nothern part of Norway the region called Salten. In the crises center she is working with the children. She has been working for about 20 years in the day care facilities for school children, and also with children with special needs.

Abstract

Because of violence and abuse between 1800 and 2000 children are forced to flee  to a crisis center in Norway every year. These children need a simple and understandable explanation of their situation. Based on The United... [ view full abstract ]
