Symposium Organizer: Carmen Melania Madrinan

The symposium will share lessons learned from multi-stakeholder collaborations in care and protection system reforms aimed at advancing family based care, de-institutionalization and child protection.  It will present findings on the outcomes brought through engagement of economic actors and interventions in prevention of separation and reintegration of children from institutions; it will examine how reintegration processes shape and are shaped by structures, systems and partnerships at local level and how these influence outcomes as well as the challenges that can be posed; lastly it will examine the importance of public policy initiatives and the role these can play to give impetus to more decentralized efforts.
