The ICAST Tools were first developed in 2008 and investigators in over 40 countries have started or completed projects summarizing the epidemiology of child maltreatment from either the child's or parent's perspective. We propose a symposium of investigators from different countries to develop a standard template for chapters for a book that will present individual reports from participating countries. In this symposium we will design both the form of country-specific reports as well as plan specific meta-analyses. the purpose of this work will be to advance the field through careful comparison of the impact of risk and protective factors across countries. This symposium will be a crucial step in planning for for an initial book and the potential development of biennial international reports. Investigators with published reports using either the ICAST-C, the ICAST-P or the ICAST-R will be invited to participate. Presenters will include at least three investigators who have completed the ICAST project and a statistician who will clarify the means and methods for meta-analysis.
