Parental intimate partner homicide: Children's and caregivers' perspectives

Arend Groot is a senior social worker and researcher. As a coordinator child abuse he is a member of the multidisciplinary team of safety and wellbeing of children. He previously worked as a team leader in the residential youth care and as a youth protector at a Youth Care Agency. He has over 20 years of clinical and policy experience with children and families bereaved by intimate partner violence, maltreatment and sexual abuse. He is a licenced supervisor LVSC. He serves on the national Expert Group advising the Ministry of Security and Justice on intimate partner homicide policy and was the lead local researcher for the Dutch study ‘Care for Children After Intimate Partner Homicide’. Last year he completed a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Amsterdam, with distinction.
