A Change of Paradigm: The needs of vulnerable children are best met by embedding the child protection system within the health service

A/Prof Roylance is paediatrician based in Brisbane, Australia. He holds a number of senior appointments.  He is Chair of the Metro South Human Research Ethics Committee (MS HREC), and is an Eminent Staff Specialist Paediatrician based at Logan Hospital.  He is an Associate Professor with the School of Medicine, Griffith University).  He is a Sessional Member of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).  A/Prof Roylance is a Nationally Accredited Mediator (VCAT), and a Churchill Fellow (1995). He has a long-standing appointment as an eminent staff specialist paediatrician at Logan Hospital, with a sub-speciality interest is in the clinical area of child protection.  He has over 25 years clinical experience at all levels of the child protection system; with a national and international reputation within the field.  He served as the Paediatric Adviser to Queensland Health for almost a decade – in that role providing clinical and policy advice to government.
