Children who experience abuse and suffer the traumatic aftermath often live with anxiety, depression, nightmares, and other sequelae for years. Children with intellectual and developmental disabilities are rarely provided any relief treatment is denied them.Professionals who use Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and other energy psychology methods, now approved as evidence-based, can help any child find relief from the trauma. Thought Field Therapy, now 40 years old, is used world-wide to heal trauma including Kosovo, Rwanda, Uganda, Mexico, and the U.S. Using TFT, the child can release the feeling of terror, anguish, panic, depression, that began in trauma, and have their previous level of well-being restored. It is essential for child abuse practitioners to know that such healing is not only possible, but occurring daily. TFT is an antidote also for vicarious trauma of those responding to child maltreatment. In this workshop the method of TFT and why it works will be discussed and demonstrated. The benefits are that this treatment is effective, the effects are felt quickly and they last. There are no side effects. There is nothing ingested injected or inhaled. The method can easily be conducted in any location without any equipment required, only the skill of the TFT practitioner.
Objectives: Participant will be able to:
1. describe the mechanism of the thought field of trauma.
2. describe the basic method used in TFT to complete a treatment.
3. list negative emotional states that can be successfully treated using TFT
Method: Lecture, demonstration and discussion
Results:Awareness of a healing treatment that can be used for any child, including those with disabilities.
Conclusions: Increased healing of trauma victims using TFT that can be taught to any individual wishing to heal the pain of trauma.
