Wellness tourism as a complimentary activity in saltpans revitalization

Helena Albuquerque holds a PhD in Sciences and Environmental Engineering. She is a research member at the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policies (GOVCOPP) of the University of Aveiro. Currently, she is working as a researcher at the Departments of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism of the University of Aveiro and she is also co-coordinator of the CoastalTourism Research Group, in the same university. She has already published some papers in national and international journals and has participated in national and international conferences. Her main interest areas of research are Sustainable Tourism and Integrated Coastal Zones Management, Geographical Information Systems applied to tourism, Accessible Tourism, Wellness Tourism and Environmental Education. She is Invited Assistant Professor in Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu and cooperates with SÃntese, consultoria em Planeamento, a consultant company in land-use planning.
