Massimo Carpinelli has been the Rector of the University of Sassari for two years and full professor at the university for 10 years.

He served as Chair of INFN CSN5, National Board for Technology and Particle Accelerators Physics Research, INFN and has the Dean of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences Faculty at the University of Sassari. Rector Carpinelli was also as associate professor and researcher at the University of Pisa for over 11 years prior to coming to the University of Sassari.
