Chieh-Lu Li holds a Master of Science from the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources of Purdue University and Ph.D. from the Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management of The Pennsylvania State University, both from USA. He also did a 3-year post-doctoral research at The University of Hong Kong. Chieh-Lu Li has been working on several funded research projects on park, recreation and tourism in the United States, Hong Kong and Taiwan, including the ones from US Forest Service and Taiwan Ministry of Science and Technology. He has presented his research project findings in a number of professional meetings and conferences around the world. He has more than one hundred publication including conference proceedings, book and journal papers. Findings of his projects can also be found in the journals such as Journal of Leisure Research, Leisure Sciences, Journal of Park and Recreation Administration, World Leisure Journal, Journal of Tourism & Leisure Studies, e-Review of Tourism Research, Forest, Snow and Landscape Research, Taiwan Journal of Forest Science, Quarterly Journal of Forest Research as well as Finnish Forest Research Institute and US Forest Service General Technical Reports. Chieh-Lu Li has worked in both private and public sectors before taking the faculty positions in the university. He is being with Department of Tourism, Recreation and Leisure Studies at National Dong Hwa University. He also affiliated with Chung Hua University and National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan. His research focuses on cross-cultural analysis of customer services, service marketing in parks, recreation and tourism, ethnicity/cultural group in leisure research, natural resource tourism and recreation, ecotourism and sustainable tourism, and human dimensions of natural resource management.
