Lynda Gibbons was appointed as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Emergency) in 2011 and as an Adjunct Lecturer in University College Dublin (UCD) in 2013. She is the committed to bridging the theory practice gap and has a number of publications on clinical issues in the Emergency Department. She lectures on the UCD MSc Advanced Practice Programme. She has a number of post-graduate qualifications. Lynda has an unconditional passion and commitment to enhancing the patients' experience and providing an effective service for patients that avail of the advanced nursing practice service within the Emergency Department.

Martin Duignan

Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan

Martin qualified as a nurse in 1999, and has worked in a variety of nursing roles within Emergency Nursing since 2001. He has worked as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner since 2007. He was instrumental in establishing a number of nursing initiatives in his current organisation including medicinal and ionising radiation prescribing by nurses, and the introduction of the advanced practice role. He has a number of post-graduate qualifications. Martin has presented at national and international conferences, and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles on a range of topics. His areas of interest are patient safety, injury management and the extended nursing role
