Timo Pastila (M.Sc. Technical Physics) has a long background in SW technologies and business since 90's in the areas of space SW, mobile SW and mixed reality SW. Within the last 2 years he has been focusing in developing a new start-up in the area of mixed reality SW tools to disrupt on-site processes in built environments. He is building a global team that is excited about this area and is willing to exploit new technologies to radically change the work processes for built environments.

Latest technologies allow to create collaborative and efficient experiences for creating new designs and trying different products in renovation projects remotely in real-time. We suggest to take these technologies into use so that site visits can be minimized and the quality of the design can be improved using best possible multiple contributions in an efficient manner in a very early phase of the project. These also allow to do rapid prototyping of concepts already during the first site visit and even multiple offerings (designs and products) from all over the world from the best experts (call your architect colleagues and friends in to give their views) and best product solutions (platform that attracts products to be easily available for this) and even using crowdsourcing to review the design as part of the same process in a social media fashion (give your thumbs up/down for designs). The minimum technologies required are abilities to easily download and visualize different designs and products in the target space and share all this for the remote audience (MR/AR), ability to upload data such as measures, photos, notes and even 3D models from the renovation site (MR), ability to design remotely new components and experiences (CAD and/or VR) and ability to view and navigate the site environment remotely in real-time (CAD, MR, VR and/or web). Ainak Oy is building mixed reality SW to make this kind of on-site operations possible. We call it Ainak Plug-N-Place. For remote 3D design and review there are already many many tools (such as ArchiCAD and BIMx) that are applicable and hence these process changes require just addition of missing technology components and then just simply changing the work process!
We are able to demonstrate these use cases in September 2018 and we are looking for companies and organisations that are willing to test these concepts together with us.
